The 1997 plush set featuring Tomba and a Koma Pig.

Since the release of Tomba! in 1997, three distinct sets of officially licensed plushies have been produced, totaling five individual plushes (three of Tomba and two of the Evil Pigs). The first two sets were created as promotional tie-ins and contest prizes, making them rare collectibles. The third set could be freely bought. It was made to promote the Tomba! Special Edition rerelease.

The following sets were created:

History

In 1997, a set of two plushes was created and released in Japan to promote the original game's release: one of Tomba, and one of an Evil Pig. These were created strictly as contest prizes and were not for sale, and as such very few were produced.

In 2015, an officially licensed plush was created by MonkeyPaw Games and Gaijinworks to celebrate the second game being released on the PlayStation Network.[1] This too was a very limited release, with only 100 of them given out randomly to people who retweeted the launch announcement between November 3 and December 25, 2015. This promotion was limited to people with a North American mailing address. This plush features Tomba wearing the golden bracelet.

A third set was announced in 2024 by Limited Run Games as promotional items for the Tomba! Special Edition physical release. This marked the first time Tomba plushies were sold commercially, including a redesigned Tomba and a new Koma Pig plush. [2]

Notes

  1. The plush lists a copyright year of 2012, likely because that's when MonkeyPaw Games first obtained the license to bring Tomba to PSN, starting with the first game. The plushes are first unveiled in an Instagram post on February 21, 2015.
