Tomba! (Tombi! in the PAL region, Ore! Tomba in Japan.) is the first game in the series developed by [[Whoopee Camp]] and published by Sony Computer entertainment.
Whoopee Camp would release a sequel in 1999 called: [[Tomba!_2:_The_Evil_Swine_Return]] also for the Sony PlayStation.
It is an side-scrolling action-adventure RPG created for the Playstation 1, it was released in 1997 in Japan and in 1998 for North America and the PAL regions.
It was re-released on the Playstation Network in 2011 in Japan and in 2012 for North America and the PAL regions by [[MonkeyPaw Games]].
 
Whoopee Camp would release a sequel in 1998 called: [[Tomba 2: The Evil Swine Return]] also for the Playstation 1.

The story is about Tomba, a feral boy, wanting to retrieve his golden bracelet from the evil pigs.
The story revolves around Tomba, a feral boy whose grandfather's golden bracelet is stolen by the evil pigs. Tomba journeys across his homeland to find and capture the evil pigs and reclaim his bracelet.

Tomba! is a 2.5D platformer, this is because the player can't only walk to the left or to the right but they are also able to jump into the foreground or background.
During the game the player will have access to loads of items which will help them during the game, such as weapons and consumables. Some items are also used to completed Events, another big part of the game which is the core gameplay of Tomba!, the player will come across countless Events during the adventure which are needed to be completed to continue in the story.

During the game Tomba meets a plethora of people who are willing to aid him is his adventure.

The player will come across many different enemies, some of these can be jumped on by Tomba and trowhn away to kill them, granting Adventure Points and Experince in 1 of the 3 different colored XP bars. Some enemies need to be defeated in a different way and some enemies can't be defeated at all.
Some enemies dissapear when a place is purified by defeating the assosiated Evil Pig.

Events are one, if not, the core mechanic of Tomba!. Events can be started by talking to certain characters, getting certain items or after completing another event.
When a event is found or completed the player will be awarded Adventure Points (Shortend to AP) and sometimes items or health upgrades, some of these are vital to complete te game.
The player can view all found and completed Events in the Event tab, when a Event is found but no completed it will be written in red, if a Event is completed it will be written in black and a icon will be next to it. The player is able to "View" events which will show a short description of the event.

The music was created by Harumi Fujita with the exception of 2 songs that were created by Nao Hatsutani at the request of Tokuro Fujiwara, these songs are:
* Familiar Looking Mansion
* The Mermaid's Singing Rock
These songs were made with the help of Fujita.
The soundtrack was made with the following equipment:
* Roland JV-1080
* Korg 01R/W
* AKAI S2800i Sampler
The equipment along with the original floppydisk with the soundtrack where destroyed, Fujita has kept the original uncompressed soundtrack in digital format and wishes to release it one day.
